Alright, so I've been in the training now for 3 days. Its fun to work and train on ropes all day, its a workout thats for sure! Jugging, hauling, and learning all kinds of way to do the work. Coming from a climbing back ground there is a substantial learning curve. You know, normally climbing has been "be safe and have fun", this isn't too different, but the process of everything is very redundant. Its just hard to remember everything, but it will come with time and practice.
The trainer's are awesome! They both come from a climbing back ground, a big wall background in fact! I'm sure some of you have heard of or are good friends with Dave Nettle, he's the head trainer. He's bagged some of the craziest routes I've ever checked out via paperback topos. Cerro Torre, Great Trango, Nameless Tower, 20ish different routes up El Cap, as well as many other walls around the Valley/world. So its humbling (to say the least) chatting about climbing with him.
Anyway, the class is great fun, plus I get to fiddle with all kinds of gear I have never fiddled with. Just an update for anyone who cares -Kyle
